Ways To Naturally Reduce Teeth Stains

If you are like many people, you depend on coffee to get you through your busy days. You may have noticed recently the toll drinking coffee or soft drinks is having on your teeth. Effects such as the ones your sanyo rice cooker is having on your diet when you use it too often! However, there are practical steps you can take to protect your teeth against stains that occur from drinking coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

Have you ever thought about cutting down or cutting out your caffeine? Even though this may be one of your most helpful preventative measures, if you’re not ready to get rid of the coffee or soda in your life, try brushing. Brush your teeth whenever possible after such drinks.

If you are not ready to pull out your toothbrush a few times a day at the office, drink water. Not only should you drink water but swish it around in your mouth after a meal or a caffeinated drink. Swish for as long as you would combine a cake batter with a kitchen hand mixer. This will wash away the film that builds up on your teeth causing stains.

Eating healthy, crunch fruits and vegetables can help as well. For instance, carrots, apples, or celery are a good example of crunchy fruits and vegetables. Eating soft vegetables out of a roasting pan do not count. Make sure they are crunchy for your teeth whitening purpose.

Using a straw can help limit the teeth staining effects of these drinks on your teeth. Whenever possible use a straw for your caffeinated drinks. Using a straw will help move the liquid to the back of your mouth quick, limiting the liquid’s contact with your teeth. This may be a more appropriate measure for cold drinks. It is not suitable for hot drinks.

If a straw is not available, or convenient for your drink, do not keep colored liquid in your mouth for long. Do not swish your caffeinated drink around in your mouth. Allowing these drinks to hang out in your mouth for long will contribute to staining.

An alternative method can also be chewing sugar free gum after meals or drinks. This will help reduce the film build-up on your teeth. Remember; use these tips when brushing is absolutely impossible. Whenever you can, brush your teeth after drinking coffee, tea or other drinks that are bound to stain your teeth. This is the number one method to maintain the color of your teeth.
